The malaria prevention and control project

Malaria poses an enormous public health burden among the population of Ghana. Typically, efforts on fighting malaria focus on children under five years and pregnant women because they bear the brunt of morbidity and mortality. However, older children, including those attending school, are also at risk of mortality and physical morbidity. In view of this, Rakod focuses on older children in primary and junior high schools by sensitizing them on measures to prevent malaria.
